Talking Business: Rainier couple sees need for postal biz The Daily News By Evan Caldwell Jul 16, 2007 Rainier residents Jeff & Shelley Carroll were searching for a business opportunity when frustration led to inspiration. "Shelley was trying to find a place to ship a package, and we realized there was no place to ship from (in Rainier)," Jeff Carroll said. "I just thought we needed a pack and ship place here in town," Shelley Carroll added. So the couple opened Jeshell Mailbox Services at 118 W. B St. (Highway 30) in Rainier June 6. Jeshell --- a combination of the couple's first names --- offers mailbox, fax, copying, notary and packing and shipping services. The number is 503-556-1091. "If people are traveling through here and they are doing business, we're convenient," Shelley Carroll said. "The community here doesn't have to waste gas driving to Longview to ship packages," Jeff Carroll said. The Carrolls said they also added Wi-Fi, 24-hour mailbox access and the ability to have a street address with a mailbox (instead of a PO Box). Jeshell is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. "So when the post office is closed, we're here," Shelley Carroll said. |
