BRING RAINIER, OREGON TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN Rainier, Oregon Celebrates National Week of the Young Child Rainier Head Start, NWRESD, Rainier Early Childhood Special Education Preschool and United Way of Columbia County asks Rainier, Oregon to come together for children during the Week of the Young Child (April 13-19, 2008). As part of the national Week of the Young Child celebrated across the country, Rainier is honoring young children and all those who make a difference in children’s lives. “All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and Rainier has a great opportunity to do our part to help young children,” said Dawn Crawford of Head Start “Week of the Young Child is time to recognize the importance of early learning for all young children, and to bring Rainier together to help give all young children a great start.”

Start at the Riverside Community Church, 305 W. Third Street in the
gymnasium from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Week of the Young Child, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is an opportunity for early childhood programs across the country, including child care and Head Start programs, preschools and elementary schools, to hold activities to bring awareness to the needs of young children. Young children and their families depend on high-quality education and care, which help children get a great start, and bring lasting benefits to Rainier. Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and early literacy, and to celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood education to young children. Rainier Head Start and NWRESD Rainier Early Childhood Special Education Preschool are early childhood professionals working together with the community of Rainier to improve professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education, and to build public support for high-quality early childhood education programs. It is donations like yours that allow our programs to offer quality services and continually strive to provide the best for families and young children of Rainier, Oregon.
